Chapters Twenty Seven and Twenty Eight Summary
In the beginning of a multi-pronged attack, Callie enters the body bank for the first time since Helena had warned her to stay away. A guard searches her and Tinnenbaum orders her detained. Callie insists on seeing the Old Man, and fifteen minutes later she gets her wish. She isn't taken to his office, but to a large room with a single light source that turns out to be his metallic face. She offers him a trade - herself for Tyler, and the Old Man accepts. She also insists he take off his mask. He refuses and the faces represented flash faster. When Callie won't give in, he accepts and the room goes dark.
It takes a moment for her to realize he is gone. Using a sensor she turns on the lights...
