Chapter 20 Summary

The basketball team finals are posted on Roadrunner and Mica's team is not listed. The school is bitter about that fact. Meanwhile, Stargirl has qualified for the state finals in the oratorical contest and when her qualification is announced over the P.A. Leo stops himself from cheering as he hears others boo her. They are still a couple however. Stargirl practices her speech in front of Leo. They ride bikes together, then walk and talk. Leo learns how to see things through Stargirl's eyes. He learns how to revel and wonder about the beauty around them. They look at simple things, normal things and wonder and appreciate them together: the color of someone's front door, the strength of an ant carrying something across the sidewalk. When Leo tells Stargirl he wants to be a T.V. director, she tells him she wants...
