Chapter 19 Summary

Leo goes to talk with Archie about what is happening to him and Stargirl at school. It is then he hears the word shunning for the first time. Archie explains that the Amish in Pennsylvania shun those who violate the dictates of their culture. Archie tells Leo that the solution is easy; he can stay away from Stargirl. Leo asks Archie if he believes in enchanted places and Archie says "Absolutely." The two of them go to stand before Senor Saguaro and Leo tells Archie that Stargirl seems to be in touch with something the rest of us are missing. Archie tells Leo we are all at that place, that more primitive place, just as we are coming out of sleep in the morning before we become something else.
