Chapter 10 Summary

Leo agrees to put Stargirl on Hot Seat. It was set for February. Things seemed to be going good for Stargirl, and for the school community, and then things change again. Stargirl is overheard saying a bizarre version of the Pledge of Allegiance and some are offended even though they are not patriotic.

Then Stargirl visits the wake of Anna Grisdale's grandfather. Anna seems annoyed by this because Stargirl didn't know her grandfather. Stargirl leaves a bicycle for a terminally ill boy who is returning home from the hospital. This odd behavior is noted, and yet her popularity continues to grow.

Chapter 10 Analysis

When we look closely at this chapter we realize that people in the school and community at large are not use to being treated with the kindness that Stargirl gives them. They suspect her of wanting more, having ulterior motives...
