Act II, Scene 1 Summary
The setting is the living room of the Footlights Club about one year later.
Bobby finds a letter from Madeleine. She was in Portland and Spokane. The next week she'll be in Seattle. Terry finds finds a letter from Louise. She's been married a year by now. The phone rings. It's Keith for Terry. Her father's coming to town and she reminds him that he promised to take them to dinner. Terry has to run because she has a radio rehearsal. Louise wrote about her life as a housewife. She has gained a little weight, which her husband likes because she doesn't look so scrawny any more. She plays bridge and is in a women's club. She wants to hear updates from the girls about their careers. She was surprised to see Jean's picture in Photoplay, all dressed up...
