Tokyo

The beginning and end of the novel are set in Tokyo, where all of the main characters live. It is mentioned that Sumire and K attended a small liberal arts college in the city together before K graduated and Sumire dropped out to pursue writing. When the novel begins, Sumire is living in the neighborhood of Kichijōji. When not writing, she walks through Inogashira Park nearby. Miu's office, where Sumire begins working as her personal assistant, is in the neighborhood of Jingūmae. Shortly after Miu hires her, Sumire moves from Kichijōji to the neighborhood of Yoyogi-Uehara.

Unnamed Greek island
