Summary

In Chapter 7, Miu told K over the phone that she needed him to come to the Greek island right away because Sumire had disappeared. K still had a couple of weeks before the new school term started so he packed a bag and went to the airport. He dozed while waiting for his flight and the world around him seemed unnaturally strange. He arrived in Greece and took a ferry to the island. Miu was not waiting for him so he sat in a coffee shop until she arrived hours later. She said she had been at the police station. They went to a restaurant for dinner and Miu told K that Sumire had disappeared “Like smoke” (93). They went back to to the cottage where Sumire and Miu had been staying and K suggested that Miu pick up the story where Sumire's letters...
