Summary
Chapter 29
The coachman leaves Lizzie Rose and Parsefall a short distance from the main house at Strachan Ghyll, forcing them to walk to the front door. Lizzie Rose is impressed with the grandeur of the house, but intimidated as well. Cassandra watches their arrival from her bedroom window, wondering which will save her. Later, she falls asleep and has a dream about Clara that puzzles her.
Chapter 30
Lizzie Rose wakes the following morning and dresses in an ermine coat to take the dog for a walk. Before the servants know she is there, Lizzie Rose overhears them complain about having to serve two street children. As Lizzie Rose walks the dog to the lake, she is observed by Grisini who is now staying in the gatehouse.

Clara wakes to the sound of someone calling her and is shocked to discover...
