Twenty-Seven Summary

Rose enters the court. Damon Tarus is present to represent her before the evidence gathered by the Prosecutor. To everyone's surprise, Abe Mazur arrives and demands to defend his daughter. Rose is put into an uncomfortable position of having to choose between a brilliant legal mind and her father for her rescue. She reluctantly chooses her father.

The evidence is presented. The silver stake bearing Rose's mark is shown. It is the same one used to murder Tatiana in her sleep. Rose tires of the bickering and asks the Judge to speak to the assembly. Allowed to do so, Rose gives a rambling, nearly incoherent defense of her actions, claiming she has been framed and that she would never have left such a visible trail to herself if she was really the culprit behind the death.
