Inside the bag from her father is a note. It instructs Rose to assemble the laptop and modem contents inside the bag and await a private, secure video conference. Rose does as instructed, curious. Sydney Sage, an old friend from St. Vladimir's, and an Alchemist now living in New Orleans. Sydney inquires about some top secret Alchemist records that were recently and mysteriously stolen. Rose denies all knowledge but realizes her reputation precedes her. The records, Sydney reveals, show that Eric Dragomir, Lissa's deceased father, was depositing and removing large sums of cash from a secret account in Las Vegas during his lifetime.
