Chapter Eleven Summary
Lacking any way of tracking the escaped Victor's whereabouts, Rose and friends retire to the Witching Hour Hotel. The Witching Hour is a secretive Moroi casino that also caters to unaware humans seeking gambling fun. Moroi Royalty freely flow among the humans without detection but enjoy access to V.I.P. rooms that humans cannot enter. Rose figures at least this way they will be safe from further Strigoi attacks as the hotel is crawling with Guardians who are protecting the Moroi there to gamble and drink.
At the bar as they discuss the probable outcome of Rose's having fled the Court without official permission, she and Adrian are mistaken for a frequent sight at the casino of female Dhampirs acting as "blood whores" with bottom-feeding Moroi men. It is an ugly side of Rose's Dhampir heritage she does not like...
