Chapter Four Summary

In Chapter Four, Rose and Lissa reunite with Mia, who has figured out how to gain access for them into the Guardian records building. Escorting both Lissa and Rose into the records hall, Mia distracts a stern guardian behind the desk. Lissa soon uses her compulsion magic to hypnotize the guardian into giving the trio the secret passwords that lead into the secure records storage room. Inside, Rose finds the records for Tarasov prison, where Victor is housed. She steals the file, realizing she will need every bit of information it contains in order to break Victor out of his prison cell.

On the way out, however, Rose runs into Mikhail Tanner. Mikhail is a Dhampir Guardian who also has a past history of having attempted to terminate his former lover turned Strigoi. Tragically, Mikhail was unable to locate Sonya Karp...
