Part 5, Preparation: Chapters 21-28 Summary
Chapter 21. The king is so happy with his rooms filled with gold that he asks Saskia to marry him. Saskia refuses, still angry that he threatened to kill her.
Chapter 22. Saskia returns home and discovers that her father now wants for her to spin straw into gold for him. Saskia runs away and ends up at the home of Dagmar's family. When she speaks with Dagmar, Saskia learns that Dagmar's mother wants her to marry her one unmarried son. It seems everyone has heard about Saskia's experience at the castle and wants her to make straw into gold for them. Saskia decides she must run away and go where no one knows about her. On the road, Saskia runs into the king and he takes her back to the castle where he burns her wheel to prove...
