Part 1, Young Love: Chapters 1-4 Summary

This novel is a new take on the traditional tale of Rumpelstiltskin, a twisted monster that spun gold out of straw in exchange for a young maiden's first born child.

Chapter 1. The tailor and his love lay naked in the straw of a farmer's barn and discuss his planned meeting with her father. The young maiden warns the young tailor that her father wants her to marry someone else, but the tailor is so confident in their love that he is not concerned. After the young maiden leaves, the tailor is caught by the farmer and finds himself forced to buy straw to cover his reasons for being in the barn.
