Spin; The Abyss in Flames Summary
Tyler decides that the only way to save Diane is to bring her to the Big House, thousands of miles away across the country. Lying in the backseat, Diane is getting dangerously weak from the disease. Tyler and Simon alternate between driving and taking care of the woman. Answering Simon's concerns, Tyler insists that even if everyone on Earth is about to die, he still needs to take care of Diane the only way he knows how.
There is surprisingly little violence along the road. Most of the trouble is created by people committing suicide in the face of what they thought was a sure sign of the end of the world. However, humanity is obviously surviving and the heat is not nearly as devastating as suicides are. Still, the situation is confusing and supplies...
