No Single Thing Abides Summary
On the day that Diane is supposed to show up at the summer house, Jason warns Tyler that his sister is part of the New Kingdom (NK), a Christian Hedonist movement borne out of the fear of the end of the world. Diane shows up, accompanied by Simon Townsend, a leader among the local followers of the NK movement. Like his father before him, Jason does not like Simon but tolerates him. Simon does not work and the couple lives on small revenues from an inheritance and from the sect. Jason offers Simon a ride in his Ferrari so that they can get a part for their broken car. While this is going on and without further warning, the Chinese nuclear missiles hit the alien artifacts hovering over the Earth's poles.
