The courtrooms where Brooke is called to testify against her father are the places where she has to talk to a roomful of strangers, including lawyers, jurors, and observers, exactly what her father did to her.

Women in Crisis Building

Gina took Brooke to the Women in Crisis Building for free counseling when Brooke’s mother refused to pay for any kind of emotional help for her daughter. It was in this building that Brooke finally confessed to Midge what her father had done to her. Later, when Midge was preparing to leave for a new job, Midge told Brooke her own history with sexual abuse. After she graduated from college, Brooke went to work at the same Women in Crisis facility where she met with Midge.
