Summary

In Chapter 8, Brooke got a job as a telemarketer her freshman year in high school. Cristin, her friend, told Brooke she needed to invest in some new clothes before the ones she was wearing fell off her. Brooke confirmed she was a size double 00. As she was leaving the school, she saw a sign advertising cheerleading tryouts. Even though another girl told Brooke she would never make it, Brooke took a copy of the flyer.

Molly agreed to allow Brooke to try out when Brooke promised to pay for everything. On the day of tryouts, the girls were taught several moves as well as a dance routine to a two-minute soundtrack.
