Chapters 11-14 Summary
Chapter 11. Things at the library are slow, so Clay-Boy has had time to read almost every book they have. It also gives Clay-Boy plenty of time to visit with Claris on her frequent visits. However, Clay-Boy is deeply embarrassed one day when he kisses Claris for the first time and is caught by his younger sister. The sister, Becky, goes straight to Olivia and tells her what has happened. However, Olivia has gone into labor and does not have time to deal with such things. Olivia sends the children to her parents' home while she cleans up the house and prepares her bedroom for the birth. At the same time, Clay-Boy worries because he was supposed to go to a carnival with Claris, but now must care for his younger siblings. Clay-Boy sneaks out to tell Claris he cannot go and...
