Summary

The third and final story opens in New York City at an unspecified point in the distant future. The story follows Simon, an artificially created human called a simulo, who is comprised of biological and mechanical materials. Simulos have been outlawed, so Simon must constantly avoid law enforcement. One day on a New York beach, Simon encounters Catareen, an alien from the planet Nadia. The Nadians have an appearance similar to humanoid lizards. They are immigrants to earth and generally occupy low-level service positions. Catareen works as a nanny for a human family. Simon leaves the beach to attend an appointment. To make money, he enacts specialized sexual fantasies per his original programming.
