Dashiell Gibson

Known as Dash, Dashiell Gibson is a 12-year-old boy who is living on the moon with his parents, Rose Harris and Steven Gibson, and his 6-year-old sister, Violet. Dash has been on the moon about six months when the novel opens, and he is simply passing the time until he and his family can return to Hawaii. Dash has come to hate everything about his life on the moon, and he can no longer see any aspect of the adventurous life he had believed he would live. His life is so boring that he is furious when school is canceled the day after Dr. Holtz dies. At this point, Dash cannot imagine filling up an entire day without attending at least some of his classes, which he attends by remote access.

The setting is a fantasy, and the reader will not accept this as a realistic situation...
