Summary

This section is labeled June of 1993. Patricia meant to tell her friends that she had invited James to their meeting, but she was so nervous about what they would say that she kept making excuses. Slick had picked out Bridges of Madison County. She was very religious and had convinced her conservative husband to let her join the book club by telling him it was a Bible Study Group.
