Chapter Twelve Summary

The snarling, attacking werewolf hurls himself at Alexia before her eyes adjust to the dark. As an opening for Chapter Twelve, it grabs the attention. Somehow Alexia is able to jerk her body out of the wolf's aim. The wolf hits the door and begins to turn and get to its feet again. The werewolf seems confused. He hesitates about attacking as if it is holding himself back while he desperately wants to attack.

The wolf paces and gets ready to attack again. Alexia doesn't know if she can get hold of the werewolf and keep him from getting to her throat. Alexia jumps at him and wraps her arms around him.
