Two Summary
Alexia and her family gather around the breakfast table to read about the ball the night before. Her two sisters are interested in whether their names and their dresses are in the society column. One reads that something strange has happened at the ball. She laments her lack of knowledge about it. How can she spread her own gossip and be in the know? Alexia's stepfather tries to meet with some of the wealthy and highly political men of London. They happen to be of the supernatural. The stepfather is very disturbed by Alexia's lack of manners with Lord Maccon. He wants to do business with Lord Maccon.
Alexia leaves the table to visit her friend, Ivy, and invite her for a walk in Hyde Park. They are able to talk about everything and anything. After they watch a dirigible land, an actress...
