Chapter 37 to 40 Summary and Analysis
In Chapter 37m Lady Chanboor came into Dalton Campbell's office and she asks why Dalton always needs to be so proper. Hildemara Chanboor did not make visits to inquire about mundane matters and she was like a chill wind before the storm. She comments that his wife is a lucky woman and he says her husband is lucky. She said that word is that his wife is faithful to her and that he is equally faithful. She compliments him that she is an exceptional man. She said he did a good job with Winthrop and Linscott. She said that what her husband does is his business if they are discreet, but if it makes her the butt of jokes, it is another thing entirely.
