Chapters 29 to 32 Summary and Analysis
In Chapter 29, Kahlan walked willingly away from the group with Richard. She was content to argue with him alone instead of in front of everybody else. Richard saw the hunters leaning a little on their spears, despite the fact that they are poisonous. He could tell that they were placed strategically and the Baka Tau Mana were outsiders. The Baka Tau Mana looked indifferent to the Mud People and Richard knew that they were anything, but indifferent.
Sister Verna once told him that one blade master killed almost fifty soldiers before being taken down. She said they fought like they had invincible spirits and they believed that they were. He did not want a misstep or lapse in judgment to cause them to fight. The Baka Tau Mana, the Mud People, and Cara were all part of a triangle...
