Chapters 25 to 28 Summary and Analysis
In Chapter 25, Roberta looked out across the fields of Nareef Valley. The Dameer River went through the valley. She would go up to Nesting Cliff to look out at the valley. Roberta shifted her pack and walked along. She saw a mushroom and plucked it up. Some people only would go up every year or two to view the splendor. Some took herds of goats up on the rocky slopes. Roberta never climbed the higher mountains. She was afraid of high places. She liked the deep woods where the mushrooms grew. The area was called Nesting Cliffs because the falcons nested there.
Roberta collected mushrooms so she could sell them at market. She would sell them fresh or dried or pickled, among other ways. Some called Roberta the mushroom lady. The mushrooms helped her family earn some money and...
