Chapter 5 to 8 Summary and Analysis
Zedd claims that he would have taught Richard about the Grace, but that they have been separated. Richard starts to relax.
Zedd focuses his attention and traces the symbol drawn on the ground. He explains the meaning of the symbol.
The outer circle represents the beginning of the underworld. Grace starts there, out of nothing. There is a square inside and an eight pointed star. The square represents the outer circle of the spirit world and the limits of the world of life. The star represents the Light the Creator and the rays of magic.
His silver wristband has strange symbols and a small Grace on each. Kahlan had not notices the Grace on the bands.
