Chapters 1 to 4 Summary and Analysis
In the Chapter 1, the book opens with a discussion about what is bothering the chickens. Richard wonders what is bothering them and Kahlan wonders if Richard's grandfather is pestering them or wonders if they are grouchy because they were kept up at night.
