Summary
In Chapter 51, after the tournament, Samuel and Murray moved back to the dorm. They enjoyed the popularity they had not been allowed to enjoy while they were playing. Samuel admitted to his mother that he felt lost without the structure of practices and games. Samuel was torn between staying in college and joining the NBA. Both Lonnie and Jason encouraged him to get an agent. Ida and Ernie both argued Samuel should finish college before he went professional. Murray, however, understood Samuel wanted to go professional because the money would allow him to bring his family to the United States quickly.
Murray and Samuel met with Reynard, the representative for Arnie Savage who approached Murray during the MEAC tournament. Reynard assured Murray and Samuel that Arnie would give Samuel a four-year contract with the first two years’ salary guaranteed if he was chosen...
