Summary

In Chapter 18, after many days of walking, Beatrice and her group joined a larger group of refugees going to Uganda. Even though Beatrice did not want to leave South Sudan, Emmanuel and the other men convinced her the camps there were safer.

One morning the group came to a sign announcing they had reached Rhino Camp, a refugee settlement in Uganda. Beatrice was in disbelief when they were given clean water and food after they had been processed.

Meanwhile, Lonnie helped Samuel move into his dorm room. Lonnie had arranged for Samuel to have a job working as an assistant equipment manager for the football team. Samuel was shocked that he would be making $7.25 an hour. When he was not working, Samuel researched refugee camps in and around South Sudan. He was distressed when he read about the terrible conditions in the camps...
