Chapters 8-10 Summary
Back on the road after leaving M'Gama's cave, the group runs into the Queen's Players, a group of humans who travel about Luster on the Queen's orders singing, tumbling, and playing for humans and unicorns alike. The Queen's Players are delighted to meet up with Cara and company and they decided to travel with them since they're heading the same direction. Cara hears one of the Player's in the group singing "The Song of the Wander." She sees that it is an older man whose name is Jacques. She begins to talk to him and she learns that he was once married to Cara's grandmother, Ivy Morris. Jacques may not be Cara's blood relative, but he decides that since she is the granddaughter of Ivy he views her as his granddaughter regardless of what their true relationship is. When Cara tells...
