Summary

This chapter begins with the “Original Blind Tom” holding a concert in New York City. This fake Blind Tom is very talented, but he talks way too much for Seven’s comfort. Juluster, the “Original Blind Tom,” wants to play songs that were not planned for the program. He talks to reporters and tells them what inspired his songs and how he feels about his mom and dad. The real Blind Tom wouldn’t ramble on the way this guy does. It makes Seven nervous. The concert goes well, and Seven tries to justify to himself that he’s not taking advantage of Tom, but he’s doing this in Tom’s memory. Seven doesn’t want to believe what he sees, but the three weeping women in black are in one of the first few rows. They continue showing up for the concerts...
