Summary
Bernie and Cordova go to the house of Mrs. Nez, Richard Horseman's grandmother, to give her the news about her grandson's death, and also to interview her to see if she knew anything about the incident. Mrs. Nez is very complimentary about her grandson, and says she has no idea about how he had died. Still, Bernie has a lurking suspicion that Mrs. Nez is not revealing everything.
Over in Tuba City, the negotiations get under way calmly, with Palmer making opening remarks and then having delegates on either side of the debate take turns presenting their case. During a break, a young man approaches Palmer on the stage, and he and Palmer walk outside and have a heated conversation. When Chee approaches them, Palmer tells Chee that the issue is none of his business.
