Summary

Iris arrives at Grandma’s house at the start of chapter 25. They set off for the airport, Grandma “[flying] past other cars” on the freeway (146). The plane takes off, and Iris is excited to “meet the whale” and also for Grandma to be “back to herself again” (149). They land in San Francisco and go to a restaurant to eat while they wait for the cruise ship to board. They go through the process to board the cruise ship shortly thereafter. Once finally onboard, an attendant named Jojo helps Iris and Grandma into their room (152). The ship takes off.

Iris and Grandma go to a restaurant onboard to start chapter 26. The two see dolphins out the window at the restaurant, and Iris begins to ask Grandma questions about the cruises that she and Grandpa took (158). She tells a story about how she and Grandpa...
