Book II Chapters 15 and 16 Summary
Claire reaches a bird's nest that Einar told her about. When Claire reaches underneath the nest to grab a hold of the branch there, a huge gull comes out and pecks her in the neck. Claire realizes that when Einar climbed, the nest was empty. Now, it has baby birds in it.
Claire retreats to the tunnel where she was climbing out of when the gull pecked her. When she comes back out of the tunnel, the gull pecks Claire in the arm, causing a gash so deep that Claire can see the bone in her arm. Claire retreats to the tunnel and uses her supplies to dress her wounds.
Claire gets rid of all of the empty supplies and what's left of the backpack she uses for bandaging her arm. She throws this out of the...
