Book II Chapters 11 and 12 Summary

When it's almost winter again, Bryn gives birth to twin boys. In the winter, Alys and Claire sleep together so that Claire can help to keep Alys warm. Claire thinks about how Alys is training Bethan in her ways because Claire is leaving.

Seasons continue to change and time continues to pass. It's now six years since Claire was saved from the sea and five years since she remembered she has a son. Einar continues to train Claire for leaving and he tells her she'll be ready soon. One day, Einar comes to Claire to tell her that it's time to climb out of the village.
