Book II Chapters 3 and 4 Summary
Alys is brewing a special tea for Bryn, a woman in the village who keeps miscarrying. When Claire smells the tea, she weeps. Alys says smells bring back memories and that something about the smell of the tea is reminding Claire of something.
Claire smiles as she overhears three of the six year-old girls playing tea in the forest. Claire thinks that she will relearn what a queen is and all of the other things she needs to know. she still wonders, though, why the smell of the tea saddened her. As Claire walks back into the woods, Tall Andras sees her as he is working in his field. The crows are circling him in the air because of the bugs and worms his hoe is digging up.
They all realize that Claire is afraid of animals...
