Chapters 16-20 Summary
Alex thinks that Kendra's father is the one who figured out the relationship since he's an FBI agent. Vince accuses Alex of enjoying the situation too much. Alex protests, but it doesn't sound very sincere. They listen to a tape with Kendra singing. The songs jump from one to the other since she never rewinds or fast forwards when a recording session hits her.
It feels as if everything is falling apart for Vince. He isn't with Kendra anymore, and he isn't helping the guys in the city. They are in just as much trouble as they were before. It suddenly hits him that he can still help out. He is going to go talk to Boaz and use his father's name.
The trip into the city is excruciatingly long, and the weather is horrible. A violent thunderstorm is headed toward...
