Pages 141-168 Summary
The next morning Crab and Jimmy wake to the heat of Arkansas. As they talk and plan their day, Jessie, Miss Mackenzie's girl, tells them that Rydell is on his way. When Rydell arrives, he tries to act tough. Crab tells him he does not want anything from him, he simply wants him to tell Jimmy that Crab was not in on the armored car heist that ended in the guard's death. Rydell accuses Crab of wanting this information in order to frame him with the police. Rydell refuses to say anything until he figures out what exactly Crab wants.
