Erin Locke Roberts
Erin is a documentary filmmaker who lives in London with her fiancé, Mark. As the narrator, Something in the Water occurs from her point-of-view. She is originally a naive, idealistic young woman. Erin and Mark had been together for years, gotten engaged in October, and were planning a September wedding when she starts the story on their anniversary in July. Erin's mother died when she was young and her father moved to Saudi Arabia, where he remarried, so she does not have any close family. Her mentor, Fred Davey, and his wife, Nancy, are her surrogate family. Fred walks Erin down the aisle and her best friend, Caro, is her maid of honor. Erin is working on her first solo feature-length documentary film, following three inmates after they are released from prison.
