Chapter 31 Summary
Darcy reaches her thirty-second week milestone with a sense of huge accomplishment knowing her babies can now be born safely. Ethan surprises Darcy with a chocolate cake and a present from Rachel, explaining he was instructed to wait for the right time. When Darcy unwraps the two beautiful white receiving blankets trimmed in blue silk, she is overcome with emotion. Darcy reads the note Rachel enclosed, and is moved to find that Rachel thinks of her everyday and misses her. She tries to hide her emotions from Ethan as she reads over lines in the letter aloud to him. Darcy asks him if he thinks Rachel really thinks of her daily. Ethan replies that he does and asks Darcy if she thinks of Rachel as frequently. Darcy continues with the letter instead of responding.
Two weeks pass while Darcy considers what to say...
