Chapter 27 Summary
Darcy and Geoffrey spend New Year's Eve on their first double date with Ethan and Sondrine. Though the restaurant is perfect, the group suffers through stilted conversation. Darcy and Sondrine do not warm up to one another, and Darcy can tell the men do not find much in common either. When the group move on to an exclusive club in Berkley Square, Sondrine plays the social butterfly role Darcy knows well from her own nights out in New York City. When Darcy questions Ethan about his feelings about Sondrine talking to an especially eligible-looking man, Darcy is happy to find Ethan isn't concerned.
Geoffrey dotes on Darcy all night and introduces her to all his friends. When the New Year rings in, Geoffrey sweeps Darcy into his arms. However, as they kiss, Darcy is looking beyond Geoffrey's shoulder for Ethan and Sondrine. When...
