Chapter 16 Summary

Darcy spends the next three days in her apartment reeling over her losses. Claire arrives at Darcy's apartment to find her sprawled on her sofa. When Claire hears the news of Darcy's break-up, she is happy to find her friend's sub-par mate is gone and immediately thinks of a better suited man she would like to introduce Darcy to. Claire promises to introduce Darcy to eligible Josh before Jocelyn, a co-worker Darcy viewed as competition, could get to him. Claire also asks Darcy if they can be roommates again. Both suggestions lift Darcy's spirits.

Darcy is confident that Claire is ready for the final secret in her story. Spinning scenes in her head about roommates sharing baby duty, Darcy tells Claire she is pregnant by Marcus. At first, Claire does not believe her. When Claire is convinced, Claire quickly downs her margarita.
