Chapter 14 Summary

The following morning, Darcy's mother visits Darcy's room to console her and grab her dirty laundry. Mrs. Rhone assures Darcy she likes Marcus, but Darcy knows her mother is not telling the truth. Darcy's mother tells her she can always dump him and start over. She then asks for Darcy's laundry. When Mrs. Rhone goes to retrieve the mesh bag of laundry from Darcy's suitcase, what she finds instead is a book about pregnancy. When Mrs. Rhone hears Marcus is the father, she collapses in tears and tells Darcy she is ruining her life. The two argue, and Darcy storms out of her parents' home with Marcus.

Darcy and Marcus' relationship goes well for a few weeks before their arguments arise again. One Saturday, after an argument about baby names, Marcus kicks Darcy out of his apartment and ignores her calls the rest...
