Chapter 9 Summary

Marcus reluctantly agrees to discuss wedding plans. Darcy wants to get married before her pregnancy begins showing and has also decided she no longer wants to get married by the justice-of-the-peace. Marcus jokes about inviting Rachel and Dex, and then asks if they can have the conversation another time. Darcy resigns telling herself Marcus is just not the wedding-planning type.

Later, after checking her voicemail, Darcy is again upset that she has not heard from Rachel or Dex. Marcus reminds Darcy she told them she didn't want to speak to them anymore. Darcy explains to him it is necessary that she speak to Dex as they have wedding plans to cancel. When Marcus tells her to call him, Darcy stubbornly responds that Dex should call her.
