Chapter 2 Summary
Darcy replays her sob-story to anyone who would listen on her way to Marcus' studio, and then to Marcus himself in detail when she arrives. Darcy is disappointed in Marcus when he laughs about the irony of it. Marcus doesn't understand Darcy's anger and reminds her they are guilty of the same crime their friends are. Darcy explains that of the four of them, she has been dealt the worst hand. When Marcus replies that he dated Rachel and is Dex's groomsman, Darcy insults him by playing down his importance in the wedding and by saying he and Rachel were never serious.
Darcy makes childish plans for revenge on Dex and Rachel. When she suggests to Marcus that she commit suicide, he doesn't take the bait. Instead, he jokingly tells her she will be quickly forgotten as the dead usually are. Darcy decides...
