Nisha Cantor
Nisha Cantor is the 40-something-year-old wife of wealthy Carl Cantor and one of the protagonists of the story. Nisha has a teenage son, Ray, who attends boarding school in the United States. Carl serves Nisha with divorce papers, blindsiding her and devastating her financially. Nisha has no money, no clothes, and no shelter. After Sam accidentally takes her bag at the gym, Nisha loses her red, crocodile-skinned, Christian Louboutin high heels - one of her prized possessions. After Carl says that he will only give Nisha a fair settlement once she returns the heels, Nisha sets out on a journey to find them.
