Ashley Ford
Ashley Ford is the author-narrator of Somebody's Daughter and was born to a mother and father who loved her, though her father was sent to prison shortly afterwards. She grew up in Indiana surrounded by her mother's parents, siblings, and their children, thus she always felt family was important to her even when at times her family was abusive, neglectful, or cruel. Ford experienced sexual assault as a child which made her feel isolated from everyone in her family, as she told no one about it, and she instead attached herself to her best friend and later boyfriend, Brett Tubman.
