Summary

The migrants travel by truck for twenty minutes until they arrive in front of a one-story building. The smugglers split the group between two rooms and order them to clean themselves quickly and put on their nicest clothes. Javier is embarrassed to take his clothes off in the bathroom for Patricia to wash. When she pushes him to hurry up, he thinks about how much she reminds him of his mother. He wants them to feel like his family. He notices what the other migrants look like in the light of day, and he is surprised by some of their looks. Chino, for example, has multiple tattoos and a nipple piercing. Javier is shocked and uncomfortable.
